Hello and welcome the Year of the Dog. Honest and loyal, dogs are the truest and most reliable partners. Vietnamese legend has it that the Dog was placed 11th in the zodiac because of his late arrival to the Emperor’s party. It seems that the Dog was so busy playing in the river that he lost all track of time and arrived late to the party. All that to say, may you have loyal friends and play in the river so long that you lose track of time!

What a perfect segway to highlight one of my favorite people in the world. Loyal and steadfast, David Hargraves. He is a guitar virtuoso. I have had so much fun playing music with him that the time has flown by.
For those who do not know, David Hargraves, he is an amazing musician. He and I have played music together in different settings and configurations since circa 1990. My first gig was with David Hargraves at Lance’s Prime Time Cafe. That was a long time ago. We have both written a few new songs since then. I’m proud to call him my friend, collaborator and music partner. Dave also plays guitar with several other bands including Coldfeet and music legend, Freddie Krc.
David Hargraves and I are starting off our playing calendar with a night of music at one of our favorite venues – Mainly Drinks in LaPorte, Texas. If you have not been to this historic restaurant, you are in for a treat. LaPorte is our hometown and we love going back to play music.

It’s been a lovely summer. There has been some time to catch up with old friends and embark on new adventures. I’m just recently back from New York – Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn to be more precise and am enjoying my new home in Galveston, Texas. (Google it)
One thing that remains constant is my love of playing music with my partner in crime, David Hargraves. He is enthralling.
We will be at it again soon enough on August 12th at one of our favourite venues, Mainly Drinks. Please check the calendar and make comments (if they are constructive) and let me know that you’re looking out for us.

It’s so important to me as a musician to be able to play music out in the public. This may seem like a no-brainer and if you’re not a working musician, it may not be something on your radar. I just wanted to take a moment to say “Thank You!” to the Venue owners and managers that provide (safe) places for people to come and listen to local musicians who may not otherwise be heard.
I’ve been playing music for quite a long time and can hardly describe the gratitude that I have for venues that provide this public service, and yes, I consider it a public service. Bringing art, music and culture to a community is, in my book, nothing short of philanthropy.
Mainly Drinks is one of these venues and Deb Gallington continues to provide this public service. Please support those that are supporting us!

Guess how I like to spend my Birthday Week?! Playing at Mainly Drinks! Yep. That’s right. It’s my birthday week. I am a flighty Aquarian, though, my friends tell me that I’m the most grounded one that they know.
I just returned from my beloved Brooklyn a few weeks ago and have already had the delight of playing some music with my partner, Dave Hargraves. I get to have him when he’s not off with Freddie Krc!
This week, I get to do my solo gig at Mainly Drinks in LaPorte. I couldn’t be more happy to play there. If you’ve been there before, you know the vibe is chill, the food is fabulous and the staff and owner are gracious. Of course, the music is STELLA!
